Description:

As a Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance, our program exceeds the national standards to provide you with the knowledge, skills and practical experience to be a qualified and competent yoga instructor. Our comprehensive curriculum, including mindfulness, mediation, human biology and hands-on experience, will cultivate a unique, well-rounded perspective and nurture your development as a compassionate yoga instructor.


Program Learning Outcome #1:  Assess one's current state of health through all the dimensions of Wellness (physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational and environmental) and apply coping strategies to balance one's health now and gain resiliency for the future. Course(s) that will address this program learner outcome: HLTH 1105, HLTH 1505, HLTH 2215, PHED 1108, PHED 2208, and PHED 2210.

Program Learning Outcome #2:  Demonstrate proper performance of physical skills through body mechanics and personal and community safety techniques. Course(s) that will address this program learner outcome: HLTH 1105, HLTH 1505, HLTH 2215, HLTH 1150, PHED 1108, PHED 2208, PHED 2210.

Program Learning Outcome #3:  Design and implement behavior modification plans that strive for excellence in wellness through healthy behaviors and boundaries and positive decision making. General Education (3 credits):

To complete the Yoga Teacher Training certificate, you must successfully complete three credits of General Education coursework from MnTC Goal Area 1.

All students pursuing this award should work closely with their advisor to ensure proper selection of required program courses, if applicable program electives, required Minnesota Transfer Curriculum courses, and MnTC electives. You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to efficient and successful completion of the required coursework.
