Description: This course is a continuation of the principles dealt with in Drawing 1. Portraiture, landscapes and still life are explored. Presentation methods include demonstrations, lectures and studio sessions. Students will learn to respond critically to drawing and to apply aesthetic principles to their own and others work.

Topical Outline:

1. Explore learning resources in drawing to include museums and galleries
2. The use of color and color theory as it applies to drawing
3. Develop continued exposure to subject matter such as; portraiture, landscape, still life
4. Explore expressive potential through traditional and nontraditional approaches to drawing
5. Explore alternative work  methods in drawing such as; group projects, sight specific drawing, 3 - D drawing etc.
6. Experiencing museums and galleries as a resource for the study of drawing


Learning Outcomes:
1. Gain knowledge the problems and solutions associated with alternative work methods
2. Demonstrate an effective application of color media to drawing
3. Visually articulating a variety of subject matter in drawing
4. Demonstrate application of traditional and nontraditional media for personal expression
5. Development and experience in personal drawing products and characteristics
