Description: This course systematically examines a current issue (often a problem or target population) in the field of human services that is timely and important. The course will offer a definition of the topic, historical background, current data and research on the topic, and possible solutions and action plans if a problem has been defined. This Human Services elective course is offered occasionally with varied issues as the focus. You may take this course only once, regardless of topic.

1. Select a particular topic of interest in the Human Services field
2. Apply current research and data gathering practices

Prerequisites:

Placement score into READ 0200 or placement score into ESOL 0052 or completion of READ 0100 or ESOL 0042.
